Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Joey AI collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to write it in the same plain language we use everywhere else.
1. Who we are
Joey AI (“Joey AI”, “we”, “us”) is the pet-care product of GARV AI LABS. We build the app you use — and we are the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and phone number if you provide one.
- Pet profiles — your dog's name, breed, date of birth, sex, weight, neuter status, allergies, and photographs.
- Health information about your dog — chat messages, uploaded scan photographs, daily logs, weight history, vaccination records, medications, medical records, and meal logs. This is information about your animal, not about you.
- Payment details — handled entirely by our payment processor. We receive a transaction reference and subscription status; we never see or store your full card number.
- Support correspondence — anything you write to us.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages and features used, timestamps, and the actions you take in the app.
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate region derived from IP. The country from your IP when you sign up is saved to your account and decides whether prices show in rupees or US dollars.
- Location, only if you allow it — after you create an account your browser asks whether to share your location. If you allow it, we turn it into your country, state and city and save only those; your exact coordinates are not stored. We use it to show prices in the right currency and to understand where our users are. Saying no changes nothing else, and you can withdraw permission any time in your browser settings.

3. Why we use it

4. AI processing
When you use AI vet chat, an image scan, a meal plan, or a report, the relevant content is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. That content can include your message, the photograph you uploaded, and the parts of your dog's profile needed for context — breed, age, weight, medications, and recent history.
Our AI provider processes this on our behalf under a contract that restricts them to providing the service. We do not permit your content to be used to train third-party foundation models.
Please do not type information into chat that you would not want processed this way — including anything about a person rather than a pet.
5. Who we share with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who need it to run Joey AI:
- Cloud hosting and storage — for the application, database, and uploaded photographs.
- AI model provider — as described in section 4.
- Payment processor — to take payments and manage subscriptions.
- Email delivery — for reminders, receipts, and account email.
- Analytics — only where enabled, and configured to minimise what is collected.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where we are legally required, or to establish or defend legal claims.
If Joey AI is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will tell you before it happens and before any change to this policy takes effect.
Share links
If you create a share link — for a diet plan or a health summary to give your vet — anyone holding that link can view the content it points to. Treat the link itself as the credential. You can revoke it at any time from the app, and it stops working immediately.
6. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on servers in India (AWS Mumbai region). Some of our service providers operate outside India. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on contractual safeguards with those providers requiring a comparable level of protection.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and pet records — while your account is active.
- After you delete your account — erased or irreversibly anonymised within 90 days, except where we must keep something longer by law.
- Payment and tax records — retained for the statutory period, currently eight years in India.
- Backups — deleted data persists in encrypted backups for up to 35 days before those backups rotate out.
- Support email — up to 24 months.
8. Cookies and similar technology
This marketing website uses your browser's local storage to remember that you dismissed the banner at the top of the page, and a cookie (joey_consent) to remember your cookie choice. With your consent, it also loads three third-party measurement tools. None of them load until you choose "Accept" (or "Analytics only", which loads the first two):
- Google Analytics — how many people visit, which pages they read and which links they click. Google receives your IP address.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised recordings of how pages are used, so we can find what is confusing or broken.
- Meta Pixel — tells Meta when you visit this site and when you begin signing up, so we can measure whether our Instagram and Facebook advertising works. This one does set advertising cookies, and Meta may use what it receives to show you our ads.
You can change your choice at any time: open cookie settings. Choosing "Reject" changes nothing about how the site works.
The Joey AI application uses cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. With your consent, which is the same choice as on this website, it also uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Inside the app, Clarity is set to hide everything shown on screen, so recordings never include your dog's details, records or conversations. You can change this at any time under Settings → Cookie preferences. The Meta Pixel does not run inside the application, so your dog's health records and your conversations with Joey are never part of what any advertising tool sees.
Fonts on this site and in the app are served from our own servers, so loading a page does not contact Google Fonts.
9. Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the GDPR if you are in the EEA or UK — you may ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
- Delete your account and the data associated with it;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Export your data in a machine-readable format;
- Withdraw consent you previously gave, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
Most of this you can do yourself in Settings. For anything else, write to admin@garvailabs.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Grievance Officer
As required under Indian law, our Grievance Officer can be reached at admin@garvailabs.com. If you are in the EEA or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
10. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for uploaded files, hashed passwords, scoped access tokens, and role-restricted internal access. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
11. Children
Joey AI is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect.
