Delete your data
Deleting your account removes it permanently. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore it for you afterwards. If you want a copy of your records, download them first — step 1 below.
1. Download your data first (optional)
Open Settings in the Joey AI app and choose Export my data. You will receive a single file containing your profile, your dogs, their health records, medications, vaccinations, meal logs and your chat history.
Do this before deleting. Once the account is gone the export is no longer available.
2. Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
- Sign in at app.meetjoeyai.com.
- Go to Settings, then Privacy.
- Choose Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
Your account and its data are removed as soon as you confirm. You are signed out of every device.
3. Delete by email instead
If you cannot sign in — a lost password, a closed mailbox, or an account created through Google or Apple that you can no longer reach — write to admin@garvailabs.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it.
We will confirm your identity before acting, because we cannot let one person delete another person's records. We complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually within a few working days.
4. What is deleted
Everything tied to your account goes, not just the login:
- Your account, name, email address and password.
- Every dog profile, including breed, weight, age and photographs.
- Health records, medical history, medications, vaccinations and reminders.
- Walks, activity history, daily scores and any alerts raised for your dog.
- Meal plans, diet logs and saved food checks.
- Your entire chat history with Joey AI, including uploaded images.
- Notification preferences and any push registration for your devices.
- Subscription and payment records held by us.
5. What we keep, and why
Two narrow categories survive deletion, both because the law requires it:
- Transaction records. Indian tax and accounting rules require us to retain invoice and payment records for a fixed period. These are financial records and are not linked back to your health data.
- Records held by our payment provider. Payments are processed by a third party who keeps its own records under its own obligations. We cannot delete those on your behalf. Their privacy policy governs that data.
Backups are the one place where deleted data lingers. Our backups roll over on a fixed cycle, so a copy may persist there for up to 30 days before it is overwritten. It is not accessible through the app or the website during that time.
6. If you connected Instagram or Facebook
Joey AI publishes to its own Instagram account and replies to comments left on its posts. If you commented on one of our posts or sent us a direct message, that message belongs to your own Instagram account and is governed by Meta’s terms, not ours.
To have any record of that interaction removed from our systems, write to admin@garvailabs.com with the Instagram username you used. To delete the comment or message itself, delete it inside Instagram, or revoke Joey AI’s access from Settings → Apps and websites in your Instagram account.
7. How long it takes
- In the app: immediate.
- By email: within 30 days of us verifying your identity, usually sooner.
- Backups: overwritten within 30 days of deletion.
